The citizens of Michigan need to ask themselves this question. Are we truly being represented by our elected officials in Lansing or are they representing their “Political Party” and the “Special Interest” who feed them with contributions to their campaign coffers. In my view I would say the latter applies!
For the life of me I cannot understand the voting electorate who continue to vote and elect the same one’s over and over again expecting a different result that quit frankly just isn’t going to happen! How’s that been working out for the citizens of Michigan and the Country? In my view I would say not so well!
The two major Political Parties have the public voters’ right where they want them whether they are Democrat or Republican matters little. For those of either party affiliation it’s not about “them” it’s about a power struggle for control between the “establishment elitist” and nothing to do with what’s in the best interest of the citizenry, state or country!
All too often have we seen and heard candidates that would ask for our vote as to serve us “we the people” say one thing to get elected then once in office, its back to business as usual. If we the voters are content with the condition of our state and country then the assumption must be that this is the direction we will continue to follow.
In George Washington’s farewell address, he warned against the “sprit of party”; because he foresaw how money being necessary to sponsor candidates, could also corrupt candidates.

Michigan‘s A123 Systems Files for Bankruptcy
The Michigan and Government-funded battery maker files for bankruptcy after receiving $249.1 million federal grant money (taxpayer dollars). A123 Systems received a $100 million “cash subsidy” (taxpayer dollars) from the state of Michigan for a 75-acre facility the company had leased in Romulus.
The subsidy was in the form of cash because the plant had been granted “renaissance zone” status by the Michigan Economic Development Corp. This is yet another in the long line of failures of the Michigan Economic Development Corp. an entity that should and must be abolished as to cut the size and scope of Michigan Government and save the taxpayers money!
STOP the shell game and END the “Temporary Tax”
This is a familiar story perpetrated on the taxpayers out of Lansing, where a tax is created for one purpose, then diverted to another in a political shell game at the Capitol, when it really should have gone away.
Now Senator Roger Kahn recently introduced SB 1257 which plays another shell game with our tax dollars. Under this bill, most of the revenue would be diverted to pay for Medicaid. Twenty-five years ago, in 1987, a special tax was created in Wayne County, a 30% tax on parking at and around Detroit Metro Airport that raised about $8 million annually. There’s no tax like this at any other airport in Michigan.
It was designed as a bailout for an earlier Wayne County fiscal crisis. It was supposed to go away in 2010 when the bailout debt was paid off, but in typical style, the debt is gone but the tax remains. Currently the tax brings in $21.5 million annually, and has raised over $340 million in the last 25 years.
2012 Senate Bill 1257: Revise Metro Airport parking tax detail
• Introduced by Sen. Roger Kahn (R) on September 11, 2012, to revise details of a law that earmarks a portion of Detroit Metro Airport parking tax to Medicaid spending in Wayne County. http://michiganvotes.org/2012-SB-1257 Referred to the Senate Appropriations Committee on September 11, 2012.
And there’s no good reason the business and vacation travelers who park their cars at Metro Airport should pay a special tax to fund Medicaid.

Warning: Film & Movie Producer Subsidies High Risk for Michigan Taxpayers
With the failed Unity Studio in Allen Park along with the failed Raleigh Film Studio’s in Pontiac the regrets are starting to pour in! Allen Park is looking at an emergency manager while Raleigh Film Studio’s in Pontiac has “failed to make its bond payment obligation as required by these film and movie producer subsidies.
Now the taxpayers of Michigan are on the hook as to cover this missed bond payment! The ink on the 2011-2012 state budget was barely dry, but Michigan Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville, R-Monroe, has declared that he already wants to change something. He wanted to increase this “failed” taxpayer funded subsidy that former Governor Granholm started and he did in 2011.
Senate Bill 569: Revise film subsidies Public Act 291 of 2011 • Introduced by Sen. Randy Richardville (R) on July 13, 2011, to revise the state film incentive program, converting it into a straightforward subsidy program rather than an indirect one, with awards of up to 30 percent of the expenses a film producer incurs in Michigan. Reportedly the bill’s sponsor wants to increase the subsidies from $25 million already appropriated in 2012 to $100 million annually.

Former Vice President Benefiting from “Taxpayer Subsidies”
Al Gore’s commitment to promoting “Green Energy” has brought him more than a pretty penny. The author of An Inconvenient Truth has swelled his net worth to about $100 million, largely due to his investments in green energy.
The $80 to $90 billion worth of government investment (TAXPAYER SUBSIDIES) in green energy has helped to grow many of the companies Gore and his renewable energy-based hedge fund Generation Investment Management have put the majority of their money in.
Hewlett-Packard to Cut 29,000 Jobs
The Company said in May that it will fire workers and make early retirement offers to generate annual savings of as much as $3.5 billion starting in 2014. H-P employees are scattered throughout many locations with the majority in the U.S. The number of affected workers in Michigan was not immediately known.

Staples to Speed up Store Closures
Last month the company reported that its second-quarter net income fell as sales of computers, software, and basic office supplies softened. Traffic is also down at Staples’ stores and Europe continues to be a weak spot. Best Buy is in trouble now Staples! Who’s next? Isn’t Staples one of Mitt Romney’s success stories at Bain Capital?

As we approach the 2012 November elections the consensus I gather from the voting public through different avenues of networking and research shows a very troubling disconnect in reality on how the electorate would cast their vote.
We citizens as voters have a choice in who we would cast our vote for or do we? The choice we are given is dictated to us by the two major political parties who are in control of the process.
Within the conservative circles of voters who prefer limited government, less taxation, less regulation I see these voters are content to forsake their principles-values and cast their vote for the same ole’ rehashed candidates along with their broken promises of the past.
When will we as conservative limited government voters learn that leopards just don’t change their spots? These types of candidates will say anything and everything just to get elected then once elected its business as usual. With that being said how’s that been working out for you?
As in these two examples while I agree that the likes of Obama and Stabenow among others do not represent the ideology we conservatives advocate for the alternatives of Romney and Hoekstra isn’t much better.
So this brings us to voting for the lesser of two evils, the choices, Socialist Democrats or the Progressive Republican candidates we have been given. Both have big government agendas! Voting for the lesser of two evils is still evil!
Supporting the lesser of two evils tell politicians that it is acceptable for them to do likewise. Politicians won’t change if they know we’ll vote for them anyway. Voting for the lesser of two evils always results in a downward trend in the quality of representation we as a people will receive.
Opinion in the Detroit News by Senate Majority leader Randy Richardville
Richardville: Perhaps, if we didn’t know President Barack Obama so well at this point, we would be shocked by a 1998 audio recording in which Obama sings the praises of redistributive government policies. Wow talking about calling the “Kettle Black”! Anyone and I mean anyone who would take the time as to research the good Senators legislative record would clearly see this guy could be Obama’s twin separated at birth! Richardville’s “failed” policies, actions, and inactions in the House and Senate over the years have been a complete and total failure for all of Michigan citizens and the state!
What does taxpayer subsidies for private businesses such as Michigan International Speedway (three time winner), Private Tourism Industries, Michigan Film and Movie Producers (for the Hollywood fat cats), and a host of others have in direct common with the same redistribution government policies he slams Obama on?
Everything! It’s exactly the same thing! He has continued to pursue and promote the same failed policies of the Granholm administration at an alarming rate and detriment to Michigan and it’s taxpaying citizens! This so-called Republican in name only should be run out of Lansing on a rail!
Richardville has taken campaign contributions from the “Unions” for favorable legislation as to further his political career along with the “Banksters”. He has received tens of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from Chase Bank of New York since we taxpayers bailed them out in 2008!
Everybody wants something in return wonder what they want? So how do you taxpayers of Michigan feel about donating to his campaign because essentially that’s what has happened here? Wake up citizens of Michigan this guy has got to go! To bad his colleagues in the Senate can’t see the forest for the trees and remove him as leader! This guy is a detriment to not only the citizens of Michigan but the Republican Party as well!

Why Michigan Voters “Must” Vote YES on Proposal # 6
Vote “YES” on Proposal 6! It is on the November 6, 2012 statewide ballot in Michigan as a constitutional amendment against the “New Government Bridge”. If enacted this measure would require voters to approve any new bridge or tunnel from Michigan to Canada. To vote no on the bridge you need to vote “Yes” on the ballot for Proposal 6. The question is shall we let the People Decide. Many proposals are confusing because like this one a no vote on this proposal means go ahead and build the “New Government Bridge” while a “YES” vote means “let the people decide”! Don’t let Governor Snyder build former Democrat Governor Granholm’s bridge! VOTE “YES” on Proposal 6!

MEMORANDUM – June 30, 2003 House Committee on Transportation – House Fiscal Agency
HB 4627 would amend Section 7 of 1952 PA 214 (the Mackinac Bridge Authority’s authorizing statute) to “forgive” certain “advances” made by the state of Michigan to the Mackinac Bridge Authority.
As of September 30, 2002, there remained a balance of $12,306,172 “advanced” from the State Trunkline Fund, and $ 53,250,000 “advanced” from the Michigan Transportation Fund (MTF). Subsection 5 indicates that the advance made by the state under the authority of the “Motor Fuel Tax” Act (from the MTF) are repaid or “forgiven” effective March 1, 2003.

Let’s take a look at what happened with the Blue Water Bridge between 1991 and 2010. In 1991, the Michigan Department of Transportation projected a traffic increase of 74 percent during the next 20 years in order to justify the need for the additional span that would cost taxpayers $41.3 million. In reality, traffic actually decreased by 21% during those 20 years.
Furthermore, the federal government was forced to spend another 400 million in taxpayer dollars to pay for a new plaza for the Blue Water Bridge that the feds had engineered poorly. With the possibility of cost overruns such as this example, plus the fact that “Toll Revenues” will not be nearly enough to pay the cost, we the taxpayers should and must be screaming “NO” to this new public private partnership! Remember the definition of a public private partnership is if it makes money its private, if it loses money its public!
U.S. Bridges, Roads Being Built by Chinese Firms
Cheap Chinese steel, Cheap Chinese labor, Canada threatens to by-pass Michigan Ports use Halifax Port if “New Government Bridge” isn’t built, China manipulates its currency favors Yuan over US Dollar, Comrade Snyder takes several trade mission trips to China, Canadians will control this “New Government Bridge” and if this is built will we watch the roadblocks go up as to cut off the Ambassador Bridge traffic in which it would turn it into a non-profitable private enterprise forcing the lay-offs of Michigan workers in the process?
This is government at it’s worst interfering with private enterprise and the free market system! Why is Snydholm so hell bent on this? Is there something in it for him and his business interest? After all he is a businessman! The wheels are coming off the Nerdmobile and it’s looking like Comrade Snyder is going to be a one term nerd! Can you say progressive center left Republicans such as Comrade Snyder and his bridge sidekick RINO Richardville?

The Perils of Politicians’ Promises
Michael LaFaive is director of the Morey Fiscal Policy Initiative for the Mackinac Center for Public Policy did an excellent article on the “The 21st Century Jobs program” but I would like to expound if I may? The 21st Century Jobs program although it’s name is quit convincing is nothing more than a private “piggy bank” for our glorious legislators!
I don’t know how many pieces of legislation I have looked through and run across where our legislators have “robbed” from this so-called fund for other unspecified state spending! Looks like the ole’ shell game is alive and well in Lansing. This program as he so clearly states is a total and complete “failure” to the taxpaying citizens of Michigan.
As far as The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) it’s also been proven to be a total “failure” and should be eliminated! The taxpayers of Michigan deserve and expect better from their elected officials in Lansing! Let’s leave the picking of winners and losers to the free market system.

Common Sense Healthcare Tax Policy
Under current health care policy proposals, harmful government interference in the health care marketplace will continue. Present policy does not tie the tax benefit to the degree that the individual accepts the responsibility of providing for their own health care needs. An alternate proposal would abolish tax favoritism for third-party expenditures and restore a true competitive marketplace.
How Sharia Law Will Creep Into America Courts

Currently this Bill is being “blocked” by both leaders in the House Jase Bolger and Senate Randy Richardville. This is a good bill and should be supported by all Americans. There are many foreign influences that are trying to change America and our laws.

Islam is not a religion, nor is it a cult. In its fullest form, it is a complete, total, 100% system of life.
Islam has religious, legal, political, economic, social, and military components. The religious component is a beard for all of the other components.
Islamization begins when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their religious privileges.
When politically correct, tolerant, and culturally diverse societies agree to Muslim demands for their religious privileges, some of the other components tend to creep in as well.
Here’s how it works:
As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will be for the most part being regarded as a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens. This is the case in:
United States — Muslim 0.6%
Australia — Muslim 1.5%
Canada — Muslim 1.9%
China — Muslim 1.8%
Italy — Muslim 1.5%
Norway — Muslim 1.8%
At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs. This is happening in:
Denmark — Muslim 2%
Germany — Muslim 3.7%
United Kingdom — Muslim 2.7%
Spain — Muslim 4%
Thailand — Muslim 4.6%
From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves — along with threats for failure to comply. This is occurring in:
France — Muslim 8%
Philippines — Muslim 5%
Sweden — Muslim 5%
Switzerland — Muslim 4.3%
The Netherlands — Muslim 5.5%
Trinidad & Tobago — Muslim 5.8%
At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world.
When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris , we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam, with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam. Such tensions are seen daily, particularly in Muslim sections in:
Guyana — Muslim 10%
India — Muslim 13.4%
Israel — Muslim 16%
Kenya — Muslim 10%
Russia — Muslim 15%
After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues, such as in:
Ethiopia — Muslim 32.8%
At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare, such as in:
Bosnia — Muslim 40%
Chad — Muslim 53.1%
Lebanon — Muslim 59.7%
From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels, such as in:

100% will usher in the peace of ‘Dar-es-Salaam’ — the Islamic House of Peace. Here there’s supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, the Madrasses are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such as in:
Afghanistan — Muslim 100%
Saudi Arabia — Muslim 100%
Somalia — Muslim 100%
Yemen — Muslim 100%
Unfortunately, peace is never achieved, as in these 100% states the most radical Muslims intimidate and spew hatred, and satisfy their blood lust by killing less radical Muslims, for a variety of reasons.

It is important to understand that in some countries, with well under 100% Muslim populations, such as France, the minority Muslim populations live in ghettos, within which they are 100% Muslim, and within which they live by Sharia Law. The national police do not even enter these ghettos. There are no national courts, nor schools, nor non-Muslim religious facilities. In such situations, Muslims do not integrate into the community at large. The children attend madrasses. They learn only the Koran. To even associate with an infidel is a crime punishable with death. Therefore, in some areas of certain nations, Muslim Imams and extremists exercise more power than the national average would indicate.
Today’s 1.5 billion Muslims make up 22% of the world’s population. But their birth rates are higher than the birth rates of Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, and all other believers. Muslims will exceed 50% of the world’s population by the end of this century.
Well, boys and girls, todaywe are letting the fox guard the henhouse. The wolves will be herding the sheep!
NOTE: Has anyone ever heard a new government official being identified as a devout Catholic, a devout Jew or a devout Protestant…? Just wondering.

Also: This is very interesting and we all need to read it from start to finish. Maybe this is why our American Muslims are so quiet and not speaking out about any atrocities. Can a good Muslim be a good American? This question was forwarded to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years. The following is his reply:
Theologically – no . . . Because his allegiance is to Allah, The moon God of Arabia
Religiously- no. Because no other religion is accepted by His Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)(Koran)
Scripturally- no. Because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Quran.
Geographically- no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day.
Socially- no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews..
Politically- no. Because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, the great Satan.
Domestically- no. Because he is instructed to marry four Women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34)
Intellectually – no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.
Philosophically- no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.
Spiritually- no. Because when we declare ‘one nation under God,’ the Christian’s God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as Heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran’s 99 excellent names.
Therefore, after much study and deliberation. … Perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. – – – They obviously cannot be both ‘good’ Muslims and good Americans. Call it what you wish, it’s still the truth. You had better believe it. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future. The religious war is bigger than we know or understand.
